A Plan to End the Iraq War

George Bush and Dick Cheney's war in Iraq is a disaster. We are in our fifth year of war and there's still no end in sight. This disastrous war has cost thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions ofdollars. It's time for a change.

In Washington, Don Wiviott will vote to bring this war to an honorable end by beginning an immediate phased redeployment that will take our brave men and women out of Iraq as soon as practicable. He will simultaneously champion legislation to make sure that our troops have the health care, housing, education and job training resources they need when they get home. Don Wiviott strongly supports a 'diplomatic surge' that will bring political reconciliation to Iraq and strengthen the central government.

Don Wiviott knows that there's no good option in Iraq. Together, George Bush, Dick Cheney and the Washington Republicans have created one of the biggest foreign policy disasters in modern American history. And, it's up to us to send them a strong message by electing a new leader like Don Wiviott who will stand up to the do-nothing Republican establishment and be a powerful voice for change.

Update 3/27/08: Don Wiviott officially endorsed the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq. The plan is a comprehensive, 36 page document endorsed by Major General Paul Eaton, Dr. Lawrence Korb (Asst. Secretary of Defense under President Reagan), Brigadier General John Johns and Captain Larry Seaquist (former Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Policy Planning).
