Central Albuquerque UAW Retired Workers Council Endorses Wiviott

Albuquerque, NM – Don Wiviott, Democrat running for Congress, today announced the endorsement of the Central Albuquerque UAW Retired Workers Council, adding additional momentum to his campaign of bringing change to Washington.

“I am honored to have received the support of this Council, an organization that has advanced the cause of working men and women across New Mexico,” Wiviott said. “In Congress, I will be a strong advocate for organized labor and will put the interests of working families first.”

“Let’s not vote for more of the same when we go to the polls in November. We must all vote for the candidate who remembers that we, the working men and women of America, are the backbone of this great country,” said Elva Santos, Vice-Chairperson of the Council. “As a former member of the Laborers' International Union, Don Wiviott has the best understanding of the needs and concerns of organized labor.”

To put himself through college, Wiviott worked as a union laborer and poured concrete on construction sites to earn extra money.

In Washington, Wiviott will work to reverse the failed economic policies of the Bush Administration that have favored the rich and left the middle class struggling to make ends meet.
